I was born in Washington but have moved to several states as I was growing up.  I spent a year teaching at in Salem with a classroom that included several children who came from the Oregon School for the Deaf for part of each day.  It was a great experience.

I then found White Salmon and have been here since 1990, teaching 3rd, 4th and (once) 5th grade.  It has been wonderful, I think I will be here until I retire.

I have been teaching in the White Salmon School District since 1990.  Some of you may know me from years before as Mrs. Meresse.  I have always taught 3rd, 4th, and one time 5th grade here.

I have 2 children who have gone through school here, Erien Preus and Andy Meresse.  I also have two step children who are Chelsea and Luke Vermeire.  They have also been through school in White Salmon.  What a great place to go to school and to live.

I love teaching as well as gardening, drawing, painting, and taking our old cars to car shows with my husband, Dean. I also enjoy reading and sharing my interest in books with other teachers and friends.
