Family

We have just finished our school year and I’m already looking forward to next year! I’m also looking forward to summer vacation. I plan to go backpacking and camping, and we have an old family cabin near Yellowstone that we visit every summer. I got an email last week saying there are a lot of grizzly bears around the cabin this year. Yikes! I’ll let you know if I see any when I see you in the fall!  It’s a really special place. I am also excited about the books I plan to read this summer. I love the way reading can transport me to another time or into somebody else’s life.

What do you plan to do this summer? Do you have any books you’re excited to read? Do you have any special projects, like organizing something in your house? I love to work in my garden, and I’m working on the watering system today and tomorrow. I hope it’s done by the time you read this!

I’m always so excited that I don’t sleep very well the night before school. Is that true for you, too?  See you in August, rested or not! Happy summer!

This summer I am looking forward to spending time with my family here and in Idaho. We plan to go camping and spend time traveling around the gorge to experience all it has to offer. In addition to my 19-year-old daughter, I have a 17-year-old son.  The youngest members of our family are Calvin and Vandal (see photo gallery on the left).  They are a real handful!

Some of you may remember me because I have taught your brothers, sisters, or cousins.  During my career, I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grades.

I hope you have an amazing summer vacation! I can’t wait to see you soon!

Hiking

I am so excited to be your 4th grade teacher! I wanted to tell you a little bit about me.

I was born in California and have lived in a lot of states. I love to practice speaking Spanish with anyone that will speak with me. I have a dog named Gambit who is my furry child. I💖him very much.

I love mountain biking, hiking, skiing, traveling and more recently wing foiling. As a teacher, I try to always do my best listening to students and I like being a partner with you in your learning. We are going to be thinking and writing deeply about learning and we will also be doing a lot of problem solving, friendship building, and learning how to persevere. One thing I would like you to work on is making sure that you try to have your multiplication math facts and addition facts memorized (1-10). Also, make sure to read and play lots of games this summer.
